Have you been looking for a style refresh or wanting to clear out the clutter in your closet and really fine tune your personal style? I am sharing my "No Rules" method below!

As a stylist and fashion designer, I have a "no rules" approach to creating a dream wardrobe or perfecting your personal style. My approach is not for everyone and that's ok. When I work with clients, I work with my 'Rule of 5' PhilosophyI will be sharing some behind the scenes insights into styling sessions and designing.

I ask clients to set aside at least 8 hours of time to tackle a full closet assessment. This can be in chunks of 2 hour blocks or all at once. The goal is to go item by item, category by category. Go through each piece, try it on and ask yourself what comes up as you wear each piece. As you go through each piece or as you shop, follow these 5 "rules" to create your perfect wardrobe.

THE RULE OF 5

Rule Number 1

FORGET THE RULES

(seriously) All that matters is fit.

Fit and proportions are the most important aspects to creating a chic and polished look.

Rule Number 2

LET IT GO

Like most things in life...

If it doesn’t serve you, if you don’t love it, if you don’t feel like you can conquer the world when you put it on, let it go.

Rule Number 3

If you do love it, but it doesn’t fit, or you only love parts or it, you have 3 options.

1.
Alter it

2. Transform it

3. ... LET IT GO.

Rule Number 4

Be true to you.

Trends come and go, but true style is timeless.

If you can’t find yourself in your clothes, you are better off naked. Honestly, you are doing yourself a disservice.

Rule Number 5

Don’t forget to have fun. (or be serious... if that’s who you are)

But my main point is, stop worrying about getting it wrong, stop worrying about what other people might think.

Usually the best outfits are the ones that just come together. They are the ones that were effortlessly put together. After all, necessity is the motherhood of invention.
